Über den Workshop – about the Workshop
Sebastian Molina wird eine Einführung ins musikalische Arrangieren geben. Dabei geht es ihm nicht um ein traditionelles Verständnis von Arrangement, sondern um Variationen, Veränderungen, klanglichen Transformationen etc. – das Arrangieren als kreativen Prozess. Er wird einen Einblick darin geben, wie man eine vorhandene Musik aus verschiedenen Perspektiven bearbeiten kann. Das Thema der Notation – also wie musikalische Ideen festgehalten werden können, hat Sebastian im vorherigen Workshop behandelt. Wenn es Fragen dazu gibt, wird Sebastian diese auch in diesem Workshop gern beantworten. Neben dem theoretischen Input bringt Sebastian auch einige Übungen mit. Wer möchte, kann ein Lied oder ein instrumentales Stück mitbringen und in den Übungen damit arbeiten. Auch Instrumente können gern mitbracht werden.
Sebastian Molina will give an introduction to musical arranging. He will not focus on the traditional understanding of arranging, but rather on variations, changes, tonal transformations, etc. – arranging as a creative process. He will provide insight into how existing music can be edited from different perspectives. Sebastian covered the topic of notation—how musical ideas can be recorded—in the previous workshop. If there are any questions about this, Sebastian will be happy to answer them in this workshop as well. In addition to the theoretical input, Sebastian will also bring along some exercises. Anyone who wishes to do so can bring a song or an instrumental piece and work with it in the exercises. Instruments are also welcome.
Über Sebastian Molina – about Sebastian Molina
Sebastian Molina Villarroel, geboren am 25. Februar 1993 in Viña del Mar, Chile, ist ein Komponist und Cellist. Nach seinem Studium der Komposition in Chile und Deutschland, unter anderem an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig, hat er zahlreiche Preise gewonnen, darunter den „Förderpreis der Leipzigstiftung“ und mehrere chilenische Kompositionswettbewerbe. Seine Werke, die in Chile, Deutschland und Paraguay aufgeführt wurden, reichen von Orchester- und Kammermusik bis hin zu Opern und Barockmusik. Zu seinen jüngsten Projekten zählt der „Metamorphose-Zyklus“ für Barockcello, der online verfügbar ist. Molina verbindet in seinem Schaffen Tradition und Moderne auf einzigartige Weise.
Sebastian Molina Villarroel, born on 25 February 1993 in Viña del Mar, Chile, is a composer and cellist. After studying composition in Chile and Germany, including at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater ‘Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’ Leipzig, he has won numerous prizes, including the ‘Förderpreis der Leipzigstiftung’ and several Chilean composition competitions. His works, which have been performed in Chile, Germany and Paraguay, range from orchestral and chamber music to operas and baroque music. His most recent projects include the ‘Metamorphosis Cycle’ for baroque cello, which is available online. Molina combines tradition and modernity in a unique way in his work.
